How can I achieve elite performance?
Regular treatment coupled with proper nutrition, mental training and exercise, working out and training properly and recovery/maintenance work such as yoga. The more demand you put on your body the more treatment it requires. Treatment can fluctuate according to seasons. The off-season is more of a maintenance mode, in-season is aggressive maintenance, and injury stage is injury recovery mode. Maintenance is usually around once a month, aggressive maintenance involves weekly treatments, and injury recovery mode requires therapy two times per week.
If you are in a repetitive motion or contact sport it is important to get treatment more frequently. More consistent treatment allows for freely mobile joints, stops accommodations from building, prevents stresses on joints and muscles that may lead to sprains, strains or even tears, and finally allows your body to perform the way it was meant to.
